NFCA All Mid West Team

Potratz, a sophomore shortstop from Fort Dodge, Iowa, landed on the first team as an at-large selection after posting record-setting power numbers in 2011. She hit .364 while setting Simpson single-season records with 16 home runs, 45 RBIs, 111 total bases and a .793 slugging percentage.

The right-handed Potratz doubled the single-season home run mark she tied as freshman in 2010 when she hit eight long balls. Potratz became Simpson's career home runs leader with 24, surpassing Michelle Montgomery's 13 from 2001-04. She also set the program single game records for home runs (3) and total bases (13) in Simpson's 16-1 over Rutgers-Camden on March 15. Potratz had three multi-home run games during the season, most recently hitting two in an 8-4 upset of No. 5 Central in the IIAC Tournament.

Tieryn Potratz hit her 11th home run of the season in the Millikin game, going 3-for-3. Kacee Arey started both games, earning a win and a no-decision.

INDIANOLA - Tieryn Potratz hit four home runs and slugged 1.143 on her way to earning Iowa Conference Athlete of the Week honors for the period ending March 13, 2011.
Potratz, a sophomore from Fort Dodge, Iowa, slugged her way into the Simpson record books by becoming the program's career home run leader. After tying the program's single-season mark with eight long balls as a freshman, she already has seven this year, breaking the record of 13 set by Michelle Montgomery from 2001-04.
Her record-setting shot was a solo blast in the sixth inning of a 7-1 win over Carthage on Sunday.
In six games last week, the criminal justice and sociology major hit .476 with two doubles and 11 RBI. The Storm finished the week with a 5-1 mark at the Rebel Spring Games in Kissimmee, Fla.
Potratz's week was highlighted by a 3-for-4 performance in a 15-0, 5-inning win over Beloit where she hit two home runs in the first inning, later added a double, and drove in five. She also hit home runs against Carthage and Endicott, both on March 13. She ended up driving in five against Endicott.

Simpson adds two more wins,
Potratz continues tear

KISSIMMEE, Fla. - Tieryn Potratz continued her assault on opposing pitchers and the Simpson record books at the Rebel Spring Games on Sunday.

Only a sophomore, Potratz hit two home runs in a 13-5 win over Endicott, improving her season total to seven and giving her 15 for her career, a new Simpson program record.
The Storm (8-4) beat Carthage earlier in the day, 7-1.
A native of Fort Dodge, Iowa, Potratz is two home runs away from setting the school record for home runs in a season. She hit eight home runs as a freshman in 2010, tying the single-season mark.
